Amethyst- February Stone of the Month

Amethyst is a purple quartz stone that can be found in many places across the planet.

You can find amethyst growing with citrine. 

Amethyst has a hardness of 7. It is safe to put in water. It rules the planet Jupiter and the third eye chakra.

Amethyst was used by the Greeks as a talisman to protect against drinking and addiction.

A mythical story about amethyst was, a drunken god named God Dionysus sent his tigers (leopards in some stories) after a young woman named Amethysta (Amethyst). Shortly after realizing what he had done, he turned her into a giant clear quartz. His remorseful tears stained the quartz purple henceforth creating what we know today as Amethyst. In some stories it is said that Artemis turned Amethysta into a clear quartz and Dionysus poured wine on the stone that is Amethyst.

Amethyst is known as “The All Healer”
